Across 2024, with generous support from the Clore Duffield Foundation, Watts Gallery are able to offer a bursary scheme to open up opportunities for more local schools to visit Watts Gallery on a school trip. Through interactive tours, observational sketching and practical workshops, they provide and facilitate a space for pupils to develop confidence, be inspired and gain understanding of our collection and Art and Design more broadly.
As well as offering a free workshop for eligible schools, we can also provide money towards transport. This offer is available to state, non-fee-paying schools within a 30 minutes’ drive from Watts Gallery, who have 23% or more pupils eligible for free school meals.
Schools can enquire and apply for 1 day funded sessions, for a maximum of 60 pupils (from the same or different year groups). You can choose between the Art Detective strand, with Styrofoam Printmaking Workshop or their Design Apprentice strand, with Gesso Tile Workshop.
They accommodate schools groups on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
If you would like to participate, please complete the form on the , and email schools@wattsgallery.org.uk.
