Apply for music lessons
You can apply online for music lessons taking place:
- at a school (during or after school time)
- a music centre
- online (see our separate guidance on how to set up online music lessons)
If you cannot apply online, please contact us.

To find out which instruments we offer at schools and music centres, select your school or centre first.
If you can't see what you are looking for, please check on our “out of school centres for tuition” for advice.
Confirmation and payment
Please check the for your lesson details, including start date and times.
Once your music lessons have been confirmed, you will receive a booking confirmation. You can pay for your music lessons once you have received your invoice. If you have booked before the start of the term, invoices will be sent prior to music lessons starting.
It is important that you pay this invoice in full within two weeks of receiving it.
You can pay online using a debit or credit card, by logging into your customer portal.
Instalment plans are available. Please contact surreyartsmusic@surreycc.gov.uk to arrange this once you receive your invoice.
Waiting lists
Instruments such as guitar, piano and drums are particularly popular and it may take longer for lessons to be started.
When a suitable lesson is available, ÄûÃʵ¼°¹ Arts will contact you by email, with the lesson details after which lessons can be set up and confirmation will be sent by email.
If your preferred instrument and location is not available, please email surreyartsmusic@surreycc.gov.uk to discuss alternative options.
