Temporary changes to bus services for road closures

Temporary changes or road closure information that may affect your journey by bus will be listed below when details are available. This information is supplied in good faith and is accurate at the time of publishing. Passengers should be aware that changes in road closure schedules can affect the start and length of works and checks should be made with the bus operator before travelling.

Eastworth Road, Chertsey

On Saturday 21 June and Sunday 22 June, there is lane closure due to works by Affinity Water which means buses will not be able to turn left or right from Guildford Street onto Eastworth Road.

Falcon service 456 will divert via Abbotts Way and will miss one bus stop named Guildford Street (stop D).

Walton Road, Woking

Due to carriageway resurfacing works by ��ʵ�� Highways, Walton Road, Woking will be closed at night from Friday 20 June until approximately Tuesday 8 July between the hours of 8pm - 6am only with no weekend working.

As a result the Falcon 436 service will be affected towards Weybridge, and during the hours of working will be on diversion via Victoria Way, Chertsey Road, Monument Road and Albert Drive, with the following bus stops not being served: "Board School Road", "North Road" and "Boundary Road". Outside of the above working hours the service will operate as normal.

Weylea Avenue, Guildford

Due to carriageway patching works by ��ʵ�� Highways, Weylea Avenue, Guildford will be closed from Monday 16 June for approximately 3 days.

As a result the Compass 18 service will be on diversion via London Road, and will be unable to serve any bus stops on Weylea Avenue or Sutherland Drive. Passengers are advised to use the "Highclere" or "Woodruff Avenue" bus stops on London Road instead for the duration of the works.

Queens Road, Walton-on-Thames

Due to resurfacing works by ��ʵ�� Highways, Queens Road, Walton-on-Thames will be closed from Friday 13 June for approximately 6 nights (8pm - 6am, weekdays only). As a result the White Bus 458 service will be on diversion, and the following bus stops will be unable to be served: Ashley Rise, Ashley Road, Mayfield Gardens and Woodside Avenue.

The Street, Shalford

On Thursday 29 May, The Street in Shalford has been closed due to emergency works caused by an unsafe building. The end date of the closure is currently expected to last until 20 June.

Stagecoach services 53/63 and Compass service 24 will divert via Old Portsmouth Road and Broadford Road in both directions.

Compass service 32 will be diverting via Newlands Corner and will not be able to serve Chilworth, Albury and Shalford.

32 Replacement Shuttle

From Tuesday 10 June a shuttle bus operated by Woking Bustler will run from Gomshall Queen Street to Artington Park and Ride along the route normally served by service 32. This will stop at every bus stop along the way to Shalford and will then take passengers to Artington Park and Ride so that passengers can make a connection to Guildford. Passengers travelling towards Dorking or Redhill can use the shuttle to connect with the 32 in Gomshall.

It will run from at 9.30am from Gomshall Queen Street and approximately every hour until 1.30pm. The shuttle will depart from Artington Park and Ride at 10am until 1pm. The shuttle will run Mondays to Saturdays. There is no charge to use this shuttle.

A320 Guildford Road, Chertsey

As part of the A320 North of Woking Improvements Scheme there are road works taking place on the A320 Guildford Road that will affect bus services.

The road will be closed from 5am on Saturday 14^th June until 5am on Monday 16^th June from Ottershaw by Murray Road to St Peter's Roundabout.. The road will be closed.

On Monday 16 June for 1 night between the hours of 8pm to 5am on Tuesday morning, the road will be closed between Ottershaw roundabout and St Peter's roundabout.

White Bus service 446 and Falcon service 461 will be diverting via Foxhill Road, Stonehill Road and Holloway Hill and will be using the hospital entrance on Holloway Hill to serve the St Peter's Hospital bus stop. The buses will do the same in reverse.

Union Road, Farnham

From Friday 30 May, as part of the Farnham town centre improvement works, there is a lane closure on Union Road which means the bus stop on Union Road cannot be served. This lane closure is expected to be in place until August. The nearest alternative bus stops are:

Stagecoach 4/5 - The Borough
Stagecoach 65 - West Street
Stagecoach 16 towards Aldershot - The Borough
Stagecoach 16 towards Weydon School - South Street
Stagecoach 18/19 - The Borough
Stagecoach 46 - The Borough
Stagecoach 404 - The Borough

Little Green Lane, Chertsey

Due to urgent works by Thames Water, Little Green Lane, Chertsey will be closed from Tuesday 27 May until 18 June.

During this time the Falcon 557 service will be on diversion via Green Lane, and will be unable to serve bus stops on Little Green Lane until the works are complete.

High Street, Godstone

Due to a major sinkhole appearing in the carriageway, High Street, Godstone (between the junctions with A25 Oxted Road and Salisbury Road) has been closed from 18 February until further notice. Reports indicate the road will most likely remain closed for several months.

As a result of this closure the Metrobus 400, 409 and 410 services are on diversion and cannot use Godstone High Street. Passengers are advised to catch their bus from the "Godstone Green" bus stop (near the Needle's Bank public toilets) instead. In addition the 410 service will also be unable to serve the "Crowhurst Mead" or "Church Lane" bus stops on the A25 Oxted Road.

With regards to school services, the Metrobus 612 service for Oxted School will also be on diversion, and will be unable to serve the "Crowhurst Mead" or "Church Lane" bus stops on A25 Oxted Road. Passengers for this service should either catch the bus from the "Godstone Green" bus stop (near the Needle's Bank public toilets) or can alternatively catch the Metrobus 611 service to Oxted School from the "Crowhurst Mead" and "Church Lane" bus stops on A25 Oxted Road. Passengers should bear in mind that this service operates slightly earlier than the Metrobus 612 service, arriving at the "Crowhurst Mead" bus stop at 07:59, to arrive at Oxted School for 08:14.

Portsmouth Road, Burntcommon

From Saturday 5 October contractors will be carrying out roadway improvements, including the installation of a new roundabout on Portsmouth Road. These works are expected to last until the end of July 2025.

The bus stops on Portsmouth Road, known as "Burnt Common Lane" will be suspended for the duration of the works. There is no safe location for a temporary stop.

A3 Portsmouth road closures

National Highways are carrying out major safety improvement works to the A3 Wisley Interchange (M25 Junction 10). As a result there will be a series of weekend road closures at this location.

This page will be updated as and when new closures are announced.

When closures are in place, the Falcon 715 service will only operate between Kingston and Cobham. The White Bus 462/463 service will not operate between Send Marsh Road and Ockham Roundabout, so bus stops in Ripley will not be served.

Metrobus service 430 and 435

From 29 October 2022, Metrobus services 430 and 435 will not serve Royal Earlswood Park, Prince's Road and Earlsbrook Road due to operational issues until further notice. Bus stops along Woodlands Road will still be served as normal.
