Celebrating the impact on community wellbeing
The (MHIF) is a joint initiative between ÄûÃʵ¼°¹ and ÄûÃʵ¼°¹ Heartlands Integrated Care Board. Established in 2022 with a £10.5m budget, the fund was set up to target mental ill health and emotional wellbeing. Since then, MHIF has supported 24 ground-breaking initiatives.
Celebration event
Recently, an event took place to celebrate the achievements of the MHIF. At the event, several providers offered a glimpse into the difference these projects are making to the lives of ÄûÃʵ¼°¹ residents.
- shared powerful stories of connecting autistic girls and young women. They explained the importance of creating spaces where they can "just" be themselves.
- showcased the transformative impact of Easter and summer respite provisions. The playscheme has been described by parents as "a lifeline".
- Citizen's Advice Bureau (CAB) Elmbridge described how they have embedded support in Fort House General Practice. Providing immediate assistance to patients in need has made a real difference.
The event also looked forward to exciting opportunities ahead. With a renewed focus on scaling up interventions for children, young people and families, ÄûÃʵ¼°¹ continues to lead the way in investing in mental health and community wellbeing.
2025 plans
In 2025, £1.2m has been pledged for the , with plans for matched funding from the Community Foundation ÄûÃʵ¼°¹. This will support projects focusing on children and young people up to 30 years old.
